Holidays: Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we close at 3pm on New Years Day and Halloween.

Parking: Street Parking, sometimes difficult in the evenings and on weekends

Outside seating: Pet-friendly outside seating available on weekends from 10am - 2:30 pm.

Busy Times: Generally our busiest times are weekdays between 12:30pm and 2pm, and on weekends between 10:30am and 5pm. During these times there may be a waitlist, but the wait rarely exceeds 30 minutes. We cannot place you on the waitlist via telephone.

Ice Cream Cone Policy: Many customers don't understand why they cannot have a cone inside the parlor, so here is the official answer: it's an old school soda fountain etiquette thing. For the same reason we wouldn't serve you coffee in a paper cup while in the restaurant, or your meal on a paper plate: cones are a "to go" item. If you decide to have your ice cream "for here," it will come in a fancy glass dish on a paper doily with a spoon and a glass of water, because that's how it's done in a proper ice cream parlor. Old, traditional ice cream parlors and soda fountains across the country have the same policy and the St. Francis has had this policy for as long as anybody can remember (at least since the 1950s). We apologize if this policy bugs you, but we're a traditional place.
